My 5 Days Spending Breakdown While Travelling in Iran

I knew travelling in Iran wasn’t going to be cheap. Especially because I am travelling by myself. When I inquired, no other individuals were travelling to Iran. I also wanted Iran to be my 100th country. This is because I have tons of Iranian friends in Canada. Their country is the last one I haven’t visited among all my friends from different nations. But the end price was a lot more than I expected.

Total cost of travelling in Iran with international flights

  • 786,450,000 Rials ($2,125.72 CAD, $1,572.90 USD)

The average daily cost of travelling in Iran with flights

  • 157,290,000 Rials ($425.15 CAD, $314.58 USD)

Total cost of travelling in Iran without international flights

  • 434,970,000 Rials ($1,170.56 CAD, $869.94 USD)

Total points and miles spent while travelling in Iran

  • 59,000 Ana Miles
  • 72,500 Aeroplan points

As you can see, the cost of flights turned out to be much larger than anticipated. Internal travel within Iran is actually not too expensive. I felt did an excellent job and was priced fairly as a result of the service. Even with my points and miles, it ended up costing more because I used ANA Airline miles which is more expensive. The cost of travel in Iran was further increased because I got stranded. This is the result of my flight being cancelled. As a result, I ended up paying over $300 more for the flights.

Conclusion

While I paid more money for this trip than I’d like, in the big picture of things, I do not regret this journey. Going to Iran as my 100th country is well worth it. I’ll never forget my 100th country and I think that sentiment alone was worth the amount of money I paid for this trip.
