However, upon closer inspection, it seems that the sweet spots for those who live on the East Coast have shifted. In this article, we will cover seven Aeroplan redemption sweet spots if you’re flying from Toronto or Montreal.

1 – Toronto to Chicago

In the old Aeroplan program, flying to Chicago one-way from Toronto would cost you 7,500 Aeroplan miles in economy. However, in the new program, flying to Chicago from Toronto will cost 6,000 Aeroplan points. This is a savings of 1,500 Aeroplan points per one-way flight.

The distance flown for this route is 436 miles.

2 – Toronto to Panama

Flying from Toronto to Panama used to cost 40,000 Aeroplan miles in economy and 60,000 in business back in the old program. In the new Aeroplan program, the cost of flying in economy is 25,000 Aeroplan points and 50,000 in business. This is a savings of 15,000 points in economy and 10,000 in business.

The distance flown for this route is 2,383 miles.

3 – Toronto/Montreal to San Jose, Costa Rica

The flight from Toronto to San Jose, Costa Rica previously cost 40,000 Aeroplan miles in economy and 60,000 miles in business. In the new Aeroplan program, the cost of flying in economy is 25,000 points and 50,000 points in business. This is a savings of 15,000 points in economy and 10,000 points in business.

The distance flown for this route is 2,336 miles.

Flying from Toronto to Havana used to cost 40,000 Aeroplan miles in economy and 60,000 miles in business. However, in the new Aeroplan program, it will only cost you 20,000 Aeroplan points in economy and 40,000 points in business. This is a savings of 20,000 Aeroplan points for both economy and business class.

The distance flown for this route is 1,435 miles.

The flight from Toronto to Nassau in the Bahamas would have cost you 40,000 Aeroplan miles in economy and 60,000 miles in business. Thankfully, with the new program, it will only cost you 20,000 Aeroplan points in economy and 40,000 in business. This is a savings of 20,000 Aeroplan points for both economy and business class.

The distance flown for this route is 1,291 miles.

6 – Toronto to Lima, Peru

The flight from Toronto to Lima, Peru will set you back 60,000 Aeroplan points in both the old program and the new program. However, in business class, it used to cost 110,000 Aeroplan miles for a round-trip flight to Lima from Toronto. But now, it will only cost you 100,000 Aeroplan points. This is a savings of 10,000 Aeroplan points for the round-trip business class flight.

The distance flown for this route is 3,836 miles.

7 – Montreal to Casablanca, Morocco

Flying to Europe or Africa is now expensive in the new Aeroplan program. However, one sweet spot did appear that you can take advantage of if you decide to fly out of Montreal. In the old program, a flight from Montreal to Casablanca would cost you 80,000 Aeroplan miles in economy and 135,000 miles in business. Thankfully, with the new Aeroplan program, it will only cost you 70,000 Aeroplan points in economy and 120,000 in business. This is a savings of 10,000 Aeroplan points in economy and 15,000 in business class.

The distance flown for this route is 3,534 miles.

Conclusion

Despite the massive devaluation for flights to Europe in the new Aeroplan program, those living on the East Coast of Canada can use Casablanca as their new hub in Europe. After flying to Casablanca, they can use their Aeroplan points for short-haul flights to their favourite European travel destination.

Another sweet spot to note is that flights to Central America and the Caribbean seem to have tons of Aeroplan sweet spots for those who live on the Canadian East Coast.
