There’s a recent StayVancouverHotels promotion that I think is a fantastic promotion. This is because for the first two nights you stay in a hotel, they will give you a $75, $100, or $125 prepaid Visa card. If you stay a total of 5 nights, then the 3rd, 4th, and 5th night will get you a $50 prepaid Visa card.
I can confirm this because I am staying at a Holiday Inn in downtown Vancouver as of writing this article. And, they’ve already given me two $100 gift card after I completed the check-in process.
After speaking with the front desk staff, they told me the $100 gift card can be used to help pay for the room when I check out of the hotel. This is amazing because I am paying $144 per night before tax which makes the room cost $44 per night. I am paying for parking which is $29 per night so really the cost of my night stay is $73 per night.
Other amazing benefits of the StayVancouverHotels promotion
If you decide to book your hotel through one of the big chain hotels like Marriott or IHG, you can actually attach your membership number to the booking. This means you will earn qualifying stay credit towards elite status. And you might also earn bonus points upon staying one night.
This promotion also works per hotel. Basically, you can stay at each hotel for two nights and earn the $75, $100, or $125 prepaid visa card. An extreme example would be if you stayed at the six Marriott branded hotels for two nights each. Basically, you will earn the $75, $100, or $125 prepaid visa card a total of 12 times. Not to mention getting the stay credit towards getting elite status.
Marriott elite status
If you already have Gold status with Marriott, you automatically have 13 stays towards elite status thanks to Marriott’s latest extra elite-night credits and perks. And, if you hold a Marriott credit card, you also have an additional 15 stay credits already. This brings your total to 28 stay credits. If you decide to get the US personal and business Marriott card, you will have a total of 30 elite stay credits from both cards. This brings your elite night credit to 43 meaning you only have to stay an additional 7 nights to get Platinum status with Marriott.
And if you use the StayVancouverHotels promotion, you can top up that final 7 nights that are massively discounted and get yourself the awesome Marriott Platinum status!
I think this promotion is great for people who want to go on a small getaway and check out downtown Vancouver. Stacking it to get an elite night stay is a fantastic perk while saving you money at the same time. I’m actually tempted to stack these perks assuming I can secure the Marriott Bonvoy Business card from the US. Topping up 7-nights would be an easy way to get Platinum status while getting a massive discount thanks to this promotion.
