Catherine is one of our regular speakers here at the Travel and Live Free Meetup. She’s travelled throughout Europe extensively and in her upcoming talk, the focus topic will be France!
Catherine’s Bio and write up:
“Just like everyone in this group, travel is an obsession of mine. I lived in London, England. This allowed me to travel throughout England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and the UK. Those places are still somewhere I go back to often because it feels like home to me. I have also travelled around Italy, France, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and Iran. Usually, I choose to focus on one country at a time. In the summer of 2017, I took a three-month leave from work to walk the Camino de Santiago, take Turkish lessons in Istanbul and visit England. This Spring, after eating lots of egg tarts in Lisbon, I will meet a few of my Camino friends to walk off the tarts and do it all again, this time walking an easy 250 km Camino from Porto.
Vive la France!” The land of wine, beaches, great art, grand chateaux, local markets, more wine, high mountain ranges and beautiful villages quickly became one of my favourite countries. In 2013, I spent one month exploring many corners of this beautiful country and meeting its wonderful people. I will share photos, stories and travel tips about the different regions of France: the Loire Valley, Provence, the Cote d’Azur, the Alps, the Basque country, the Alsace and of course, Paris!”
