Back in 2011, I was on a quest to do all the nice looking difficult level and intermediate level hikes here in Vancouver. I’ve always been curious about hiking Black Tusk. The pictures on the website didn’t look that good but everyone kept telling me it’s a must hike.
The hike itself was tough, it took me a total of 12 hours to get to the top of Black Tusk and back to the parking lot. My body was completely destroyed and I loved it! Hands down, Black Tusk’s pictures online doesn’t do justice for this hike. This is…the BEST HIKE I have ever done in my life. The view is breathtaking. It almost didn’t feel real. It was epic, dangerous and amazing.
Some word of advice, bring tons of water, at least 5-7 bottles. Also bring a flash light in case you get stuck in the dark on the hike back to the parking lot. Don’t over pack! Bring a first aid kit.
